Residents should feel comfortable in their neighbourhoods and confident that their concerns are being heard and addressed.

Kelowna is growing, and growth should be thoughtful. Support development where it makes sense while respecting neighbourhood character and keeping development fees reasonable.

Growth should create a better Kelowna for the people who already call it home, while making room for those who want to build their future here.

Growth needs a plan. Invest in infrastructure that can support Kelowna’s future, pursue a second bridge crossing, and advocate for practical Highway 97 improvements like overpasses and exit lanes.

A Community I'm Building For.

Born and raised in Kelowna, Hamid earned his business degree from UBC Okanagan and has spent more than two decades building businesses, working with local clients, and investing in the community. 

He and his wife are raising their family here, with their second child on the way. That gives him a direct stake in the decisions City Council makes about housing, transportation, public safety, parks, and the long-term livability of Kelowna.

Hamid played community football for ten years, finishing with the Okanagan Sun. He enjoys skiing, tennis, and planning staycations because he believes Kelowna is one of the best places on Earth.

Meet Hamid: 
 
Hamid Khajavi was born and raised in Kelowna and earned his business degree from UBC Okanagan. Now 40, he and his wife have built their family here, with their second child on the way. 
 
A lifelong Kelowna resident, Hamid played community football for ten years, finishing with the Okanagan Sun before focusing on university and his career. He also enjoys skiing and playing tennis. 
 
Coming from a construction, development, and real estate background, Hamid has built his career by solving problems, creating opportunities, building relationships, and investing in the Kelowna community. 
 
Committed to responsible growth while preserving what makes Kelowna special, Hamid supports local businesses by choosing local vendors whenever possible. He also enjoys planning staycations because he believes Kelowna is one of the best places on Earth. 
 
As a husband, father, lifelong resident, and construction and real estate professional, Hamid understands how thoughtful planning and responsible growth create safe, livable communities. He recognizes that every decision affects multiple stakeholders and believes practical leadership builds strong neighbourhoods by supporting public safety, strengthening infrastructure, protecting community character, and creating opportunities for families, seniors, and local businesses. 
 
With deep local roots, more than 20 years of work and business experience, and a genuine commitment to the community, Hamid is ready to bring practical leadership, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to serving Kelowna on City Council.
 
 
Experience & Leadership: 
 
As a local business owner and real estate professional, Hamid understands what it takes to build partnerships, create jobs, manage budgets, and navigate the challenges facing families, entrepreneurs, and local businesses. 
 
Passionate about public service from a young age, Hamid helped establish the BC Conservative Kelowna-Mission Constituency Association in 2012, later serving as the party’s Okanagan Regional Director and coordinating its AGM before the 2013 provincial election.
 
Those experiences strengthened his belief that good leadership starts with listening, bringing people together, and delivering practical results. 
 
Through his work, Hamid has collaborated with homeowners, builders, trades, consultants, local businesses, and other stakeholders on projects requiring planning, accountability, and teamwork. His knowledge of Kelowna’s neighbourhoods, housing market, and development landscape gives him a balanced understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing our growing city. 
 
Like many young families, Hamid has spent the past several years building his businesses, supporting local clients, raising a family, and contributing to Kelowna through his work.
 
As his family grows, he believes now is the right time to put his experience to work by serving the community on Kelowna City Council.

He is running to help ensure Kelowna remains a city where families can afford to build a future, seniors can remain connected, neighbourhoods retain their character, and local businesses have the opportunity to succeed.
